Most people visiting Playa Del Carmen, Mexico would be tempted to stay at all-in resorts. The convenience of having everything in one place lure many tourists to book one of the many resorts in the area. However, since I was planning to go outside of the main beach area for most of the trip, I decided to book a regular hotel but still in good location, nearby the main attraction of Playa. I stayed at Hotel Casa Ticul.
Located at the end of 5th street, the main street of attractions in Playa Del Carmen, this small but convenient hotel offers many good reasons to stay. Other than the more reasonable price tag, all their staffs were very attentive. They also offer very good breakfast package (included in the room rate) which serve different traditional Mexican food everyday. And the best thing is that the breakfast is served at their roof terrace.
Hotel Casa Ticul also already had agreement with two beach clubs, including the most famous club called Mamitas, so you can easily borrow towels from the receptionist if you plan to spend your day in either clubs. And if you are thinking to taste good traditional dishes, they also have you good advice to the nearby local restaurants offering great taste with affordable price. Al-in-all, my stay at Hotel Casa Ticul was one of my best decision taken during this memorable trip.
